Founded in 1977 by Richard Vandersteen - a self-taught engineer and US Air Force veteran - after he realized he could build a better speaker himself. What started as a passion project in Hanford, California became one of the most respected loudspeaker companies in the world. Every speaker is designed and manufactured right here in Hanford using Richard's patented innovations, and now the entire Vandersteen family carries on his life's work.
