About the Company
Our story starts in 1908 when great-grand-uncle Sulo "Shaggy" Lehto hand-carved wooden skis for family and neighbors in Michigan's Copper Country. That legacy was passed down through the generations, and in 2005 the Thompson family picked up where he left off, building skis as a hobby before releasing our first line to the public in 2008. We're a family operation based out of Boyne City, Michigan, handcrafting every single pair of skis in our own factory using locally sourced hardwood and premium materials. No outsourcing. No shortcuts. Just passionate skiers building the best custom skis in America and welcoming every customer into the Shaggy's family.
